Try PosMasr Cloud on a full shop: sample data in one click, gone in one click

A new shop starts empty. The reports are zeros, the dashboard has nothing to say, and you cannot tell whether the program fits you until you have sold for weeks. “Try with sample data” fills your shop with a realistic sample of its own kind — a grocery, a café, a restaurant, a pharmacy or a clothes shop — with 25 days of sales behind it. You look around, try the reports and the till, and one click takes out exactly the sample and nothing else. Here is what goes in, how to load it, how it leaves, and what it does not do.

An owner flips a gold switch and shelves, receipts and customers appear in the shop

A grocery in Tanta

Hassan has a grocery in Tanta. He signed up for the trial on a Friday night, opened the dashboard and found zeros everywhere. The best-sellers report was empty, “who owes” was empty, and he had no idea what any of it would look like after a month of real work.

On the getting-started page he pressed Try with sample data. Soon the shop had shelves of familiar products, customers with names, suppliers with deliveries, two cashiers, and 25 days of receipts. He opened the reports, saw who owes and how much, saw which products were running low, and asked Ask your shop “بعنا كام امبارح؟”. On Saturday morning, before opening, he pressed Remove sample data, and his first real receipt came out as number 1.

The owner flips a gold switch; shelves, receipts and a customer pop into a new shop

What goes in

The sample follows your store type (Setup → Shop): a café, canteen or roastery gets the café list; a restaurant its own; a pharmacy its own; a boutique, tailor or perfume shop the clothes list; everything else, or a shop that has not picked a type yet, the grocery list. Names are in Arabic with English alternatives, prices in pounds.

  • 40 to 62 products, with the catalogue picture when the barcode is in it. Stock in every branch: some low, some near expiry, so the alerts and the reorder list have something to show.
  • 8 customers, a few on account with a part payment or two; 3 or 4 suppliers with their deliveries and invoices, the last ones still open; two cashiers.
  • 25 days of receipts up to this minute, spread over your kind's busy hours (a café's morning and late evening, a restaurant's lunch and dinner, a clothes shop's Thursday and Friday evenings), paid in cash, by card, split or on account, with a discount now and then and a void and a return here and there. Your own VAT and service settings apply.
  • One closed shift a day with the drawer counted, and running costs: rent, salaries, bills and the weekly odds and ends.

The dashboard, the reports, Ask your shop, the alerts and the till's history read all of it like any sales history.

Loading it

  1. As the owner, pick your store type in Setup → Shop first, so you get the right list.
  2. Press Try with sample data on the getting-started checklist (the page you land on after signing up). The same button is a fourth way on the Add products page, next to the catalogue and the file, and in Settings → Data.
  3. To try the till as one of the sample cashiers, set a password for them on the Team page.
A second click does nothing: if the sample is already there, it says so and adds nothing twice.

Your receipt numbers stay clean

Sample receipts carry their own series, SAMPLE0-000001 and on. No counter of yours moves, so your first real receipt is still number 1, and nothing is ever renumbered.

Taking it out

Press Remove sample data on the same card or in Settings → Data. Only what the sample brought leaves. What you did meanwhile stays: a product, customer or supplier of your own, and a real receipt — even one that sold a sample product keeps its lines. The categories the sample added go, unless one of your own products uses them.

  • The owner only loads and removes it; a manager sees whether it is there, not the buttons.
  • Only a shop that has not sold for real. After your first real sale the load button goes; the removal stays as long as the sample is there.
  • Your plan's limits apply: the products must fit, the cashiers stop at the plan's number of accounts, and the pictures count in its picture space until the removal frees them.

What it does not do yet

Said plainly:
• No “sample” badge in the lists. The SAMPLE0- receipt numbers tell them apart.
• It switches nothing on. Shifts, tables or the kitchen follow your settings as they are.
• Dishes, medicines and clothes have pictures only where the catalogue has the barcode.
• It is PosMasr Cloud's. The program on your PC does not have it.

Which plans include it

Every plan: Basic, Cashier, Shop, Business and Chain, in the trial and after it, as long as the shop has not sold for real. Every new shop starts with 14 days of Business, no card. The full comparison is on the PosMasr Cloud page.

Quick answers

Will the sample mix with my real figures?
While it is there, the reports count it like any sales. Remove it before you open for real, and only your own sales are left.

Will my first real receipt be number 1?
Yes. The sample has its own series and moves none of your counters.

I already sold. Can I still load it?
No. It goes only into a shop with no real sales, so it never mixes into a working shop.

I added a product of my own while the sample was there. Is it removed too?
No. The removal takes only what the sample brought.
