Trays of sweets in Nasr City
Hala has a sweets and bakery shop in Nasr City with an online shop on PosMasr. Half her online orders are trays for gatherings, paid in cash at the door. Twice last month the customer was not home and the tray came back. Every week someone writes “can I pay by card?”, and some order from a shop that says yes. On top of that, three offices nearby take trays on credit and pay at the end of the month, when somebody finds time to pass by.
Hala does not need a new system. She needs her customers to be able to pay her by card or wallet, into her own Paymob account, and her shop to know about it without anyone typing.

Pay online in the online shop
- At checkout the customer sees Pay online (card / wallet) beside cash on delivery.
- The order waits, off your staff's board and off the tills, while the customer pays the total worked out by the program on Paymob's own page. The card number is typed there, never in PosMasr.
- Paid only on evidence. The order counts as paid only after Paymob's signed confirmation is checked and the payment is read back from Paymob. Coming back from the payment page proves nothing by itself.
- Then the order reaches the till as a prepaid order, and the customer is told as usual.
- A declined card can try again on Paymob's page for half an hour. An order never paid is cancelled by itself later.
Pay links from the credit book
On a customer's page in the credit book you make a pay link: for what he owes, or for one receipt. The amount is what is owed or less, never more. You send the link yourself; it opens a page with your shop's name, what it is for and the amount, and a Pay button. The customer's own statement shows Pay now for what is owed today.
- Paid → it is recorded in the credit book as a card payment, tied to the receipt when the link was for one.
- A link lives 30 days, and you can cancel it any time; a payment on a cancelled link waits for your decision.
Refunds, settlements, not matched
- Refunds. An online order cancelled after it was paid has Refund through Paymob on its page: the whole payment back, once, written in the activity log. A delivered order is returned at the till as usual.
- Settlements. Paymob's transactions are read every day. You download a statement (CSV or OFX) for any period, and Books imports it into an account named Paymob: each payment, each refund, and Paymob's fee as its own line when Paymob reports it. The same line never comes in twice.
- Not matched. A payment no order or link of yours made (a link made in Paymob's own dashboard, a payment after the order closed) is listed in a not matched queue. You decide and mark it handled with a note; nothing is booked from it by itself.
Connecting your Paymob
- Open your own Paymob merchant account (Egypt, in Egyptian pounds). A new account starts in test mode: test keys and test cards, no money moves.
- In PosMasr, Settings → Connections → Paymob: paste the keys from Paymob's dashboard and the card integration number (and the wallet one). They are kept locked and never shown again.
- Copy the confirmation address shown on the Paymob card into your Paymob integration settings.
- Try it: a test order with a test card, cancel it, refund it, download the statement.
- Going live (Paymob's checks and live keys) is between you and Paymob. We go through the PosMasr side with you on a call or on WhatsApp.
The card on the Connections page shows today's takings, refunds, the last settled day and the not-matched count. The whole feature is on the Connections page.
What it does not do yet
• Coming soon, not on today. It is built and switches on once we finish its set-up; no dates promised.
• Your own Paymob account. Paymob's fees are your contract with Paymob, so we do not quote them. We charge nothing per payment.
• Egypt, in Egyptian pounds.
• Not a card machine for the counter. It is for online shop orders and pay links.
• The WhatsApp Front Desk still never takes a payment: its orders stay cash on delivery.
• A refund is the whole payment of a cancelled order; part of a delivered order is returned at the till.
• It is not in the program on your PC; it is part of PosMasr Cloud.

“Pay online” needs your online shop on, and pay links need the credit book; both are in Business and Chain. Every plan side by side is on the PosMasr Cloud page.
Quick answers
Do you take a cut of each payment?
No, we charge nothing per payment. Paymob's own fees are your contract with Paymob.
Does my customer's card go through PosMasr?
No. The customer types it on Paymob's page; we never see the card number.
And if Paymob's confirmation is late?
The program asks Paymob itself; the order turns paid when Paymob confirms, not before.
Can a customer pay more than he owes on a link?
No. A link is for what is owed or less; see the credit book and reminders.
Can the WhatsApp Front Desk take the payment?
No. It never takes a payment; its orders stay cash on delivery.
Let them pay the way they want
Paymob payments are coming soon. Ask us to tell you the day they open; meanwhile, start the 14-day trial of Business, no card, and set up your online shop and credit book.
