A narrow counter in Shubra
Hassan's grocery in Shubra has a counter barely a metre wide. The old PC and its screen take half of it, and the cables are in the way of the bags. His son left him a Samsung tablet that sits in a drawer. Now that tablet can be the till: on a stand, sideways, with a small Bluetooth receipt printer beside it and the tablet's camera reading the barcodes.
Nothing else changes for him: the same products, prices and customers as on PosMasr Cloud, the same receipts, the same reports on his phone at night. And when the line drops in the evening rush, the tablet keeps selling.
What PosMasr Till is
- The same online till you know from the browser and the till app on a PC — not a lighter copy. The same Sell page, the same products, receipts and reports.
- Connected like any till: sign in with the shop's e-mail, then Settings → Tills → Connect this device with the pairing code.
- Made for a 10-inch tablet sideways: the Pay button stays at the bottom of the cart, with the total on it, so it is never below the screen.
- The screen stays on while a shift is open, and the cart survives if the app is closed by accident.
Which devices
Tablets and handhelds with Android 9 or newer: Samsung tablets, and the Sunmi and iMin devices that shops already use. A tablet can stand sideways or upright; a handheld the size of a phone works upright. Sunmi devices often come without Google services, and the app does not need them.
Printing and scanning
- USB receipt printers on the tablet's USB-C port with an adapter: Android asks once per printer the first time it prints.
- Bluetooth printers: allow “Nearby devices” the first time.
- Network printers, as on the PC, and the built-in printer of Sunmi devices (iMin's built-in printer comes later).
- Barcodes: the camera (allow it once), a handheld scanner into the scan box, or the built-in scanner of Sunmi and iMin handhelds.
When the line is down
The tablet keeps selling and printing. Sales wait safely on the device and are sent once, when the line is back — even if the tablet was restarted in between. Never uninstall the app while it shows sales waiting to be sent. The details are in internet down? The till keeps selling.
What it does not do yet
• A first version (preview). It passed our checks; if something does not work on your tablet, tell us on WhatsApp.
• Not on Google Play yet. You get it from our download page, and it tells you by itself when a newer version is out.
• No serial scales and no pole displays on the tablet yet, and a cash drawer opens only through the receipt printer.
• No iPad or iPhone version yet.
