“Order the same again”: the customer's last receipt becomes his next order

The first-of-the-month order in Maadi

Ahmed has a family supermarket in Maadi. On the first of every month Mrs Salwa calls with the same order: rice, oil, sugar, tea, two kinds of detergent, the children's cheese. It takes ten minutes on the phone, and one month the tea was forgotten, the next month the wrong cheese went out.

This month Ahmed sent her the receipt on WhatsApp after the delivery. Next month she opens the same message, taps Order the same again, checks the cart, removes the detergent she still has, and sends the order. Ahmed's till gets it like any online order.

How the customer gets the page

1. The shop needs its online address, chosen once in Settings → Online (the same address as the stamp card and the order pages).
2. Open the sale in Receipts and send it on WhatsApp: the text ends with “Your receipt:” and the page's link, then “Rate us:” when you have a review link. The same page shows Receipt link for the customer if you want to copy it.
3. The customer's page shows what the paper showed and nothing more: the lines, the totals, VAT, the payment. No customer name, no cashier, no cost. A voided sale says “This receipt was voided”.

Each link is signed by our server: changing the number in it to peek at another receipt opens nothing.

With the online shop

When your online shop is on, Order the same again opens it with the receipt's items already in the cart, at today's prices, not the old ones. The cart says “Your last order is in the cart: 9 items.” Anything you no longer sell is named, “No longer available: …”, and an item out of stock is left out, as the shop would refuse it at checkout anyway. Then the customer pays and gets it delivered exactly as with any online order: cash on delivery, your areas, fees and minimum.

Without it: a code at the till

A café in Heliopolis without an online shop gets the other path. The receipt page shows Order the same again at the counter with a code and the line “Show this code at the till: the cashier scans it and your order is in the cart again.”

• The cashier scans it where he scans barcodes on the Sell screen, with the handheld scanner or the camera.
• The till fills the cart at today's prices and says, for example, “3 items of receipt 1042 are in the cart”, and what is no longer sold.
• A till without internet still refills a receipt it printed itself.

What goes back in the cart

• The receipt's lines, merged by product: two lines of the same rice become one.
• At the till a weighed item keeps its weight and a piece item comes back in whole pieces; the online shop's cart takes whole units.
• A product you removed or switched off is named once and left out.
• Sizes and add-ons are not carried over: the base product goes in (the online shop takes its default option), so a “large with extra cheese” is chosen again.

Which plans include it

The customer's receipt page and the code at the till are in every plan of PosMasr Cloud, from Basic to Chain, once you have your online address. Prices went up since the last order. Which price applies?
Today's, on both paths. The old receipt only gives the list of items.

Can the customer change the order before sending it?
Yes. It is an ordinary cart: he adds, removes and changes quantities, then checks out.

Two people press the button on the same receipt?
Each one gets his own cart; nothing is shared or ordered twice by itself.

Does the page ask the customer to rate us too?
If you set a review link, yes, with a Rate us button; see Google reviews from the receipt.
