Ask your shop anything: your AI reads your reports and answers you

Ask your shop has always answered a list of questions with fixed rules: how much did we sell, who owes, what is running low. A question outside the list came back with examples. Now that question goes to your AI: it reads your shop's own reports, with the rights of the person asking, answers in plain Egyptian Arabic, and writes under the answer what it was based on. It is switching on shop by shop. Here is how it works, what it reads and what it does not, how many questions a day, and what is not there yet.

A supermarket in Mansoura

Am Said runs a supermarket in Mansoura. He knows Ask your shop well: “بعنا كام النهارده؟” every evening. But one Thursday night he had a different question: “قارن الخميس ده بالخميس اللي فات، وإيه الأصناف اللي عملت الفرق؟” — compare this Thursday with last Thursday, and which products made the difference. That is not on the list.

This time the answer came in a few plain lines: the two days side by side, the products that sold more and the ones that sold less. Under it: “Based on: comparing periods · top products”, and a note that the figures come from the shop's own reports and are worth checking before acting on them. He asked a second one — which products expire this month while he still has a lot of them — and got the list from the expiry and stock reports.

How it answers

  • A question from the list is answered as before, with the fixed rules, and never goes to the AI.
  • Any other question goes to your AI. It does not see your database; it asks for reports, the same 19 read-only tools as Connect your AI: sales and comparisons, best sellers, profit, stock and expiry, products and prices, receipts, and — by the rights below — customers, bookings and the team.
  • The answer is a few plain lines in your language — Egyptian Arabic, or English — then Based on: the reports it used. It only reads: it cannot change a price, a stock count or anything else.
  • Where you ask: the Ask page, the box on the dashboard, the Ask box in the till app, and the Telegram bot (Business and Chain).
  • If it cannot answer within 20 seconds, it says to try again in a minute and shows the example questions. Nothing hangs.

It sees what you may see

Your AI runs as the person asking. A cashier without the reports right gets no sales figures; without the credit right, no customers; bookings and the team are for managers and the owner, and only when those parts are on. Someone limited to one branch gets that branch. A report outside the person's rights is refused, whatever the question says — the rights decide, not the wording. And whatever your shop's data contains, even a product named like an order, is read as data, never as an instruction.

Questions a day

  • Free questions a day for the shop: Shop 20, Business 50, Chain 100, and 20 in the trial. When the day's questions are used up, the list questions keep working and your AI is back the next day.
  • Each person can ask up to 4 a minute: a conversation, not a flood.
  • Settings → Owner alerts → the Your AI card shows whether it is on for your shop, and the count, like “3 of 50 today · 41 this month”.
It is switching on shop by shop. Until the card says it is on for you, Ask your shop works exactly as before.

What is sent, what is kept

To answer, the question and the report rows the tools return (only what the asker may see) go to the AI service behind the invoice reader. Customers' names or phones go only when the question is about a customer and the asker has the credit right. Under the service's business terms it does not train on them. We keep the question for 30 days — who asked and which reports were used — so you and we can see what was asked. The answer is not kept. A shop where the feature is not on sends nothing.

What it does not do yet

Said plainly:
• It can be wrong. Every figure comes from a report, and the answer says which; check it on the reports pages before you act.
• No list of past AI questions for the owner yet: Settings shows the counts only.
• The answer comes in one go, after up to 20 seconds, not word by word; Telegram shows no “typing…” while it works.
• Not in the program on your PC. Ask your shop is PosMasr Cloud's.

Quick answers

Is this the same as Connect your AI?
They read the same 19 tools. Connect your AI lets your own ChatGPT or Claude read your shop with a key you hold; this one lives inside Ask your shop, with nothing to set up.

Can a cashier ask who owes us money?
Only with the credit right. Without it, the customers' tools are simply not there for him.

Do you keep the answers?
No. The question is kept 30 days; the answer is not kept.

Can it lower a price or fix a stock count for me?
No. It only reads reports; every change stays in your hands, on the usual pages.
