Number checker
One wrong digit in a barcode sells the wrong product; in an IBAN it bounces a transfer. Type the number here and check it before you use it.

How the checks work
- Barcode: the last digit is worked out from the others (GS1 mod 10).
- Tax number: 9 digits; whether it is registered is checked on the Tax Authority’s system.
- IBAN: the two check digits after EG must fit the rest (ISO 13616, mod 97).
The till reads the barcode and brings up the product in a second — see barcodes in PosMasr →
Questions
What does an Egyptian IBAN look like?
29 characters: EG, two check digits, 4 digits of bank code, 4 of branch and 17 of account number. You find it in the bank app or on a statement.
Does the check prove the account exists?
No. It shows the number is typed right (no digit missing or swapped), not that the account is open or whose it is.
Why did my product’s barcode fail?
Usually a digit was copied wrong. If the pack really carries it that way, scanners will refuse it — ask the supplier to check.
