35.3 Connecting a till with the 6-digit code

A till is a PC in the shop running one of the two till programs (next section). It never sees your e-mail code; it is paired once with a short code and from then on it carries its own identity.

1. In the browser (phone or PC) open Settings → Tills → Connect a till (during the first day it is also the third step of the checklist). A 6-digit code appears, valid for 10 minutes; on Business you can choose whether the new device is a till, a kitchen screen or a customer display.
2. On the till PC: the PosMasr Cloud app opens the sign-in page and offers “Connect this computer”; the PosMasr Windows program asks on first run “How would you like to run PosMasr?” — choose PosMasr Cloud (the other choice, “On this PC”, is the desktop edition) and the pairing window opens.
3. Type the code and a till name (“Till 1”, “Counter”); the first letter of the name becomes the prefix of the provisional receipt numbers, so give tills different initials. Press Connect. Within a second the browser list shows the till online with its name, version and the cashier signed in.
4. The hardware is per till: printer and paper width, drawer, scale, customer display and label sizes live on the till's row in Settings → Tills (the same tabs as the desktop's Settings, with the test buttons executed by that till), so two tills can have different printers.
5. A lost or sold PC: Settings → Tills → Revoke. The device is refused from that moment; anything it still has in its offline queue is refused too, so revoke only what is really gone. A new PC is paired with a new code.
