Fixed assets
Choose the appropriate workspace and branch. Your plan, enabled modules and team permissions determine which actions are available.
44.8 Fixed assets: switching it on and the categories
- Settings → Fixed assets (a manager): switch it on — Books must be on first. Choose whether each month runs by itself after the first run (on by default) and the alert days (warranty 30, count 7).
- Categories: equipment and machines (5 years, straight line), furniture and fittings (7 years), vehicles (5 years, declining balance at 40 % a year), computers and devices (3 years), shop fit-out (5 years). Each has its accounts — asset, accumulated depreciation, depreciation expense, gain or loss on disposal — which you can change; add your own categories.
- Team → the person → Rights: see assets, manage assets. If Books had assets before, they came over once, “already in the books”, with the same book values; Books' old asset links open these pages.
Plans: Business and Chain, and the trial (it needs Books); listed as an add-on for Shop at 200 EGP a month, usable once Books is there. Online only. More: Fixed assets and depreciation

The first month counts the days in use, the month the life ends the days left. Booked months are marked; the others are planned and posted by the month's run.
The asset and its depreciation move to the other branch's books on the day; the months not run yet are depreciated there.
Changes what the asset is worth in the books from the end of the day's month; the depreciation after it spreads the new value over the life left.
Books the depreciation up to the day, takes the asset out of the books and the gain or loss against what it fetched. The asset stays on the register with its history.

The asset register, the monthly depreciation posted to Books, sales and disposals, transfers and counts. Books must be on: every journal is posted there.
When a month ends, its depreciation is posted the next day. Off: a manager runs each month from Fixed assets → Depreciation, and an alert says when one waits.
Each category gives a new asset its life and method, and the Books accounts it posts to. Leave an account empty for the chart's own.
